3 Habits Every Entrepreneur Should Consider To 10X Their Productivity
As all of the entrepreneurs out there know, productivity is at a premium when running a business, especially a business that is just getting off the ground. You may have to work 70 hours a week or more to get the business going.
Maintaining a high level of productivity over this many hours can be very difficult. However, the tips in this article will help entrepreneurs maximize their productivity and even multiply it by 10.
Setting A Sleep Schedule
Sleeping well is absolutely vital to maximizing the performance of the body and the mind. Many entrepreneurs who regularly work long hours only end up getting six hours of sleep a night or fewer. This little sleep will have a significant effect on the level of productivity that you can maintain. Some tips for getting a quality night sleep include:
- Turn off electronics at least 30 minutes before going to sleep. Light emitted from a TV or electronic devices slows the release of melatonin in the body which is the chemical that relaxes the body in anticipation of sleep.
- Get a mattress with the right firmness for your body’s needs. If you have back pain, then laying on a firmer mattress will help support the back and alleviate that pain for a more restful night’s sleep.
- Go to bed at the same time each night. Creating a consistent sleep routine means the body knows when to start relaxing to allow you to fall asleep faster.
You should make sure that you always get at least seven hours of sleep a night, if not more. The best way to do this is by setting a consistent sleep schedule and always sticking to it.
Meditating
Quite a few high-level entrepreneurs have made meditating an important part of their lives. Meditating and mindfulness have been proven to significantly enhance cognitive function and even be good for your body. You may assume that you don’t have enough hours in the day to meditate regularly, but you need only meditate for a short time to see the positive effects.
Many entrepreneurs only meditate for 10 minutes a day or even fewer. Making a 10-minute window in your schedule will help your productivity increase more than enough to make up for the time you have to take off work.
Eating Healthy
Of course, eating healthy will help your body function optimally. Many people do not know, however, that eating healthy will also help your mind function better. Eating healthy can also include taking supplements.
There is a category of supplements called nootropics that are known to enhance cognitive function. Some entrepreneurs have seen positive results when they take nootropics. However, everyone’s body is different, and not everyone sees significant benefits from nootropics. Caffeine is considered a nootropic, so coffee is actually scientifically proven to increase your productivity. You may even want to drink powerful espresso shots unless these make you jittery.
Commit To These Changes & Your Productivity Will Skyrocket
Like all lifestyle changes, it will take a great deal of commitment to actually ingrain these habits. If you do not have this sort of commitment to making these healthy habits a part of your day, you won’t end up changing your lifestyle. This means that your productivity will not increase.
It may be a pain to force yourself to practice these habits every day, but they will soon become second nature. You need all the edges you can get in today’s ultra-competitive business world, so you should always be working to enhance your productivity. The tips listed in this article are just the tip of the iceberg.
