Mobilize Mail – New Zealand Email Marketing – provides added security for sharing data
Mobilize Mail is pleased to announce added security features for their API service which allows third party applications such as CRM systems to share data with their email marketing account.
As more and more applications share data across the internet it is vital that the communication channels that allows applications to “talk” to each other be as secure as possible.
Mobilize Mail is pleased to announce added security features for their API service which allows third party applications such as CRM systems to share data with their email marketing account.
The image above shows part of the API security console provided for each account.
The IP address(s) of the third party server communicating with Mobilize Mail can be whitelisted thus protecting the clients account from another server attempting to communicate using the clients credentials.
Additionally the data sent from the third party server to Mobilize Mail can be signed with a secret key set by the client. Mobilize Mail’s API service can then check the signature to make sure the data is valid before accepting.
Add both security features (whitelisting and HMAC signing) with HTTPS and you have a more secure communication channel.
If your email marketing provider is not providing this level of security then your data could be at risk from exploits and hackers.
